To our dedicated students, friends, family and all the SOLO community:
We are pleased to announce that SOLO Schools is back up and running. While our main campus is open, please note you may now need to contact a different staff member than whom you have communicated with in the past. For all registration questions and on-campus courses, you can email email@example.com and for any sponsor questions, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call our office at 603-447-6711 and we will direct your call to the appropriate person. Our on-campus courses and availability can be located under the “Schedule” tab at the top of the webpage. Away or sponsored courses can be found in the same location and filtered by course type.
We are frequently asked what changes and/or precautions we are now taking in our courses due to COVID-19. To begin, we have reduced all our class sizes to fewer participants and are requiring appropriate space to be used to enforce 6ft of social distancing while students are in a classroom setting. Students are now asked a series of screening questions before entering a course. We are requiring students to wear PPE during any SOLO course. SOLO has also informed instructors to start each course with a discussion on infectious disease and demonstration of proper use of BSI/PPE. Additional guidelines are in place and can be further explained upon request and/or while setting up a course contract, as these are evolving as we receive information outlined by the CDC, WHO, and other state/government officials.
With the ongoing pandemic and continued changes within each state to host in-person courses, the overall number of courses available for recertification has remained reduced. Although we have provided a blanket extension until November 2020, options are still limited. In recognizing the problem, SOLO is making an addendum to our current extension policy. Anyone with a SOLO certification that expired between March through May, 2020, will still have an extension until November of 2020. In addition, anyone with a SOLO certification that expired starting in June of 2020, through to expiring in December of 2020, is eligible for a 6 month extension from their expiration date. For example, if a student’s card expired in June 2020, they now have until December 2020 to attend a respective recertification course. Similarly, someone holding a SOLO certification expiring in November 2020 will now have until May 2021 to attend a course. This expansion should assist students in finding a course to attend. While students have up to those six additional months, we strongly encourage individuals to recertify sooner rather than later and secure themselves a spot in a course. Please remember, SOLO cannot recertify an NREMT certification and/or state license nor can we extend a certification from another medical provider. If you need assistance in locating a course, please contact our main office at 603-447-6711 or email email@example.com. For a formal letter of extension, individuals should email a copy/scan of their expiring card to firstname.lastname@example.org to receive their letter.
